The Scottish 6 Days Orienteering Event is held every two years in late July or early August. The idea of a multi-day event was born out of the 1976 World Championships in Scotland, and the first ever Scottish 6 Days was held in the following year.

We were last in Strathspey/Srath Spè in 1995 when the event was memorable for its superb terrain and the hot sunny weather.

In 2007, we returned to Strathspey but this time with Grantown-on-Spey/Baile nan Granndach rather than Kingussie/Ceann a' Ghùithsaich as the base. Travel times to all six competition areas and the training areas were short. The last day finished just across the road from the Event Centre!

The towns and villages of Badenoch & Strathspey/Bàideanach agus Srath Spè are inside the Cairngorms National Park/Pàirc Nàiseanta a' Mhonaidh Ruaidh with all its many attractions.

Spey 2007 was generously supported by Highland 2007 and EventScotland. Highland 2007 has a very large programme of events and activities throughout the Highlands of Scotland, all of which will be celebrating Highland culture and promoting the Highlands as a great place to live and to visit.
