Elite (M/W) Classes - Expected Winning Times:

Map Scales in the table above are given as Standard (S) or Large (L) where:

Scoring

For Elite courses, scoring is based on cumulative times over the week - i.e. competitors will need to complete each Day in order to be in contention. Chasing starts based on performance in prior Days will be in place on Day 4 and Day 6 - for full details, see the Event Programme.

For all other classes, points will be given for each day’s result, with points allocated based on finishing position. Thus, the class winner will receive 1 point, second placed competitor will receive 2 points, third placed 3 points, and so on. Competitors’ overall score will be the sum of their best four scores of the week. In the event of a tie between two or more competitors, the lowest score of each competitor will be considered, and the competitor with the lowest score (i.e. highest individual day placing) will win.

Electronic punching

The SportIdent electronic punching system will be used.

Description sheets

All courses will use pictorial description sheets, including junior courses. The International Orienteering Federation provides a downloadable version of the definitive guide to Pictorial Description Symbols (PDF).
