Pre-ordered SI cards, training map packs as well as pre-ordered copies of “A Few Surplus Maps” can also be collected along with your race bib.
Programme
The programme will be a single sheet of A3 folded down to a small pocket size. It is available to download as a PDF.
One programme will be issued per entrant.
Race bib numbers
These are the same as the ‘start no’ on the Fabian4 entries website. It will save you time if you know your number! If you are running in different classes over the week (for example, to allow you to take part in the UK Cup/Masters Cup/FCC races on specific days) then you will have two bibs. We advise you to reinforce the corners of the race bib with tape; please bring 4 x safety pins to pin the bib to your chest.
Age Class Competitors
The rule is No bib, No go. Start times will be allocated to all competitors (even including helpers and second parents on split times who have the possibility of a punching start). Elite runners will be emailed separately about their starts.
Colour-coded competitors
They will not be issued with a race bib. Instead, they will be provided with vouchers which show their eligibility to run. Colour coded competitors will have a punching start – the rule is, turn up with your voucher and go.
Merchandise, training maps, tickets etc.
Event merchandise, social event tickets, rest day event (MTBO and Sprint) entries, training map packs and “A Few Surplus Maps” will also be on sale at the locations mentioned above. Payments must be either cash or cheque in GBP. On Saturday 30th July Ultrasport, CompassPoint and Mountain Range will also be at Dalmally.
Event Centre
Please note that the Event Centre at Benderloch will only be open for Social events and not for Information or EOD.
Refreshment options
Orienteers driving to Oban via Dalmally (Event Centre) have a number of opportunities to stop and purchase refreshments or food.
Highly recommended is the Real Food Café in Tyndrum (on the left, before the Green Welly Stop). Best fish supper for miles!
Further on there is the visitor centre and tearoom at the Cruachan Power Station, a chance to learn about renewable energy (hydro) plus good coffee and a scone.
In Dalmally itself, shortly after leaving the Community Centre, there is an excellent bacon roll and cup of tea van at the Auction Mart (where campervans need to park).
For those of you heading into Benderloch and the campsites/caravan sites there is also the Ben Lora café and Bookshop.
Other outlets do exist but these come with personal recommendations of Colin Matheson after numerous trips to the area!
