Highland 2015 was “launched” at this year’s Scottish 6 Days Moray 2013.  Further information about WOC 2015 areas can now be released:

We are pleased to announce that subject to final agreements with landowners and other bodies that Darnaway and Glen Affric will be used to stage Long, Middle and Relay World Orienteering Championships races in 2015. Forres and Nairn will be used to stage the Mixed Sprint Relay, Sprint Qualifiers and Sprint Final. Embargoes as published in Bulletin 1 remain in place for all other areas.

For the many competitors wishing to spectate and run in the Scottish 6 Days we can announce that in order to give orienteers the opportunity to compete on exactly the same terrain as WOC that the format will be two days followed by an action packed “rest day” then a further four days.  The Scottish 6 Days will be staged in Keppernach, Darnaway, Glen Strathfarrar with the final day in Glen Affric, a mix of ancient Caledonian Forests, open moorland and birch forest and complex moraines with Scot’s Pine and deciduous woodland.
