Four areas in Deeside will be available for training purposes from Saturday 22 July to Saturday 5 August; Balnagowan, Bogendreip, Glen Dye, and Scolty.
Controls will be out in each training area and there will be suggested courses.
World Class orienteers from The Scottish Elite Development Squad will be control setting the training courses and any profits raised from training map sales will go towards funding the development of Scottish elite orienteering.
Training maps may now be pre-ordered through the online entry system for the event until midnight on Friday 30 June 2017.
Price: £4 per map.
Pre-ordered training maps will be available for collection from the Bike Station, Station Square, Ballater, AB35 5RB from Saturday 22 July until the Event Centre opens. Thereafter, they can be collected from Information at the Event Centre on Saturday 29 July, or from the Information Tent at the Race Arenas on Days 1 to 6.
Additional training maps will be available for purchase at the Bike Station from Saturday 22 July until Friday 28 July, at the Event Centre on Saturday 29 July, or from the Information Tent at the Race Arenas on Days 1 to 6.
In the case of curtailment or cancellation of the training due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to retain all or part of the training map fees.
Competitors may only cancel their order of training maps if the training itself has not been curtailed or cancelled. Cancellations before the closing date of 30 June 2017 will be given a full refund, less an administration charge of £0.50 per map. Cancellations between 1 and 15 July 2017 inclusive will be given a 50% refund. We regret that no refunds of training map fees will be possible after this date.
