The new General Data Protection Regulations came into force on 25 May 2018. The Company's Privacy Statement has been updated to comply with the regulations and is set out below.
The Scottish 6 Days events have been held every two years for the last 40 years. Originally run solely by volunteers, the events now employ a paid official and utilise outside event service companies to assist with the organisation. The numbers of competitors has increased from 850 to a typical entry of 3000 to 3500 with over 6000 competing in 2015 when the event was held in conjunction with the World Orienteering Championships.
The 6 Day Company equipment is available for loan/hire to other orienteering events in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
The Scottish 6 Days Orienteering event (“the 6-Days”) is a biennial event, first held in 1977, and taking place in a different area of Scotland each time. As the largest orienteering event in the UK, each 6-Days event typically attracts over 3500 competitors plus additional families and friends, and brings an enormous economic boost to the local area.
Results are available for all the events from 1977 through to 2017.

Relationships between the 6-Day Company Board and the Central Organisation of Individual 6-Day Events
The Scottish Orienteering 6-Day Event is a high quality orienteering event in terms of terrain, maps and organisation. It also has a friendly and helpful approach towards both the competitor and the volunteer on whom the event depends.
It is also recognised that one of the purposes of the event is to aid with the promotion and development of the sport of orienteering in Scotland (through the contributions to the funding of professional staff, clubs and squads).
