Events on Saturday 1 August

Nairn will be very busy on 1 August - arrive early!

On Saturday 1 August, orienteers may be interested in attending the Nairn Show, organised by the Nairnshire Farming Society (established in 1798).

Parking for the WOC Opening Ceremony, WOC Sprint Relay and Open Sprint will be in the old Farmers’ Showfield, as you drive east along the A96 into Nairn. The Nairn Show itself is 1 mile east of Nairn, near Auldearn (with a bus shuttle from Nairn and free parking on site).

Nairn will be a very busy place on this Saturday, and if you are coming to the orienteering event, we encourage you to arrive as early as possible (but with a detour to Registration at Eden Court in Inverness, which will include traders and food & drink provision). Nairn Show traffic coming back through Nairn is likely to conflict with orienteers turning right into the parking area, and the earlier you are parked, the better for all road users. The car park opens at 14:00 and there are many local facilities to enjoy, including the beach. Have a look at the themed window displays too.
