For those who don't want to "Rest" we have a range of activities to keep you occupied.

The traditional Sprint race for those with energy to burn, or TrailO for those wanting to test the brain and give the body a rest.


Sprint Race, Ballater

Organised by: The Sprint Scotland Team (Graham Gristwood, Kris Jones, Chris Smithard and Fanni Gyurko), with assistance from SEDS and ScotJos.

Evening talk: The Sprint Scotland team will put on an evening talk (provisionally 7-8pm) with a presentation on sprint orienteering, and also a Q&A session with (among others) Kris Jones - 4th place WOC sprint, sprint relay and relay 2016. Price £3 for seniors, £2 for juniors, students. Venue in Ballater.

Venue: Cambus O'May- approximately 4km east of Ballater along the A93 Deeside Road.

Getting to the Event: Cambus O’May can be reached by bus from Ballater and other towns and villages along the A93. The Aberdeen – Braemar bus service (hourly) will stop on request at the forest entrance.

It easily possible to compete in both the Rest Day Sprint and the TrailO. Anyone wanting to do both should run the Sprint first, and select early as their preferred start block for the Sprint in SiEntries. Start times will not be allocated for the TrailO.

Cancellation Policy

In the case of curtailment or cancellation of the Rest Day Sprint or TrailO due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to retain all or part of the entry fees.

Competitors may only cancel their entry to the Sprint Race or TrailO if the event itself has not been curtailed or cancelled. Cancellations of an entry to the Sprint Race before the closing date of 30 June 2017 will be given a full refund, less an administration charge of £2. Cancellations of an entry to the TrailO before the closing date of 30 June 2017 will be given a full refund, less an administration charge of £1. Cancellations between 1 and 15 July 2017 inclusive will be given a 50% refund. We regret that no refunds of entry fees will be possible after this date.

You can also donate your cancelled entry fee (without any deductions) to a local charity.
