There will be a bar in the hall complex - Albert Hall for Saturday- Monday and Wednesday, Victoria Hall for Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Saturday 29th – Thursday 3rd Evening meals by Sheridans 1800-2100 Albert Hall

Sheridans' will be doing a Scottish themed menu on Thursday to accompany the Scottish music/Ceilidh night in the Victoria hall.


Tickets for the following social activities will be available for sale at Registration on Saturday 29th and on the door at each event (if any remain unsold).

Sunday 30th evening – talk by Glyn Jones (ranger at Balmoral estate) 1930-2030. 

Free but donations accepted for Braemar Mountain Rescue.

Monday 31st evening Glen Tanar guided walk 1800-2000

Guide: Eric Baird (estate ranger). Free but donations accepted for Glen Tanar Charitable Trust (runs visitor centre)

Location: Glen Tanar visitor centre – park at Braeloine car park (grid reference NO 479 966) and walk across old military bridge.

 

Monday 31st evening – Whisky Tasting 1930-2130

£8 per over 18, under 18 allowed to listen but not drink!

Tuesday 1st evening Ceilidh with top local band Clachan Yell 1900-2230 (hall open1800).

£10 adult, £5 junior/student, £25 family (max 3 children).

Tuesday 1st evening Routegadget 2: The Inside Story Talk by Simon Errington (Route Gadget producer) 1930-2030. 

No tickets, first come first served.

Location: Ballater Village Hall.  Mike Sheridan Room

Simon Errington, the developer of Routegadget 2, will provide a look behind the scenes at the history, the current status and some possible future enhancements. The talk will try to explain how things work at a high level, as well as providing some power user tips that people may not be aware of. It will probably also end up including the odd digression into detailed technical areas to keep the computer nerds happy as well.

 

Wednesday 2nd evening 1900-2000 - the Sprint Scotland team will put on a talk with a presentation on sprint orienteering, and also a Q&A session with (among others) Kris Jones - 4th place WOC sprint, sprint relay and relay 2016. Price £3 for seniors, £2 for juniors, students.

Wednesday 2nd National Trust for Scotland, Mar Lodge 1700-1900

Learn about the history and management of Mar Lodge Estate and have a look inside the decorated interior of the Lodge and the Stag Ballroom, not normally open to the public.

£5pp Tea/coffee and biscuits included. Children under 16 - free
